慷慨的天主

我們不會對今天所說二子的比喻不會感到陌生。當父親吩咐一個兒子到葡萄園去工作時，他不願意，但後來改變主意，而又去了。另一個兒子為了奉承父親，一口答應，但他卻沒有去。哪一個履行了父親的意願？當然是第一個。

第一個兒子承認及糾正自己的錯誤。他起初拒絕了天主的邀請但後來悔悟了。這跟
蕩子的比喻很接近。他要求了一份家產，把所有的都揮霍盡了以後，便開始窮困起來。然後，他醒悟了，承認錯誤，甘願作一個傭工。那寬容和大愛的父親立即歡迎他的兒子，並沒有加以處罰。

"Come to me!" Matt. 11:28

The two sons in today's parable are not strangers to anyone of us. When the father came to his first son and asked him to go out and work in the vineyard, he first refused but later on changed his mind and went. The second son who wanted to please his father immediately said yes, but he did not go. Which of the two sons did his father's will? The answer is clear; the first son.

The first son acknowledged his mistake and immediately corrected his erring attitude. He first refused God's invitation but later on felt sorry for it. This is similar to the Parable of the Prodigal Son who, after getting his inheritance, squandered his money and became very poor. Coming to his senses, he realized his mistakes, and, willing to become as one of the servants, he went back to his father and apologized. The father, who is so loving and forgiving, readily welcomed his son without inflicting any guilt on him at all.
